The Festival of Regions is one of Austria’s most prominent festivals for contemporary art and culture. Since 1993, the Festival of Regions has seen itself as a “collaborative transformer” – bringing together artistic avantgarde, simmering social challenges and current topics from the Upper Austrian periphery.

Every two years, it invites a region outside of metropolitan areas to engage in critical dialogue. A multifaceted, sometimes contradictory, but always lively artistic examination of the present and future of rural areas. A contemporary art festival that relies heavily on cooperation with local initiatives and communities: an invitation to participate, help shape, dance, and celebrate.
