The 38th edition of EVA International in 2018 will be curated by Inti Guerrero

EVA International – Ireland’s Biennial is pleased to announce that Inti Guerrero has been appointed as the Curator of the 38th edition of EVA International in 2018.

Inti Guerrero (b. 1983, Bogotá, Colombia) is a young and highly acclaimed curator who is based in Hong Kong. Guerrero is currently a curator of Latin American Art at Tate in London and was previously Associate Artistic Director and Curator at TEOR/éTica, an independent not-for-profit art space in San José, Costa Rica. After studying History and Theory of Art and Architecture at the University of Los Andes in Colombia and the University of São Paulo in Brazil, he completed the Curatorial Programme at De Appel arts centre in Amsterdam.

Commenting on Inti Guerrero’s appointment Woodrow Kernohan, Director/ CEO of EVA International said: ‘We are delighted that Inti has accepted our invitation to be the Curator of the 38th edition of EVA in 2018 and very much look forward to working with him to develop his programme for Ireland’s Biennial and the open call for artists’ proposals that will be launched later this year.’

Inti Guerrero commented: “I am deeply honoured to have been invited to be the Curator of the 2018 edition of EVA International – Ireland’s Biennial; a groundbreaking exhibition that has contributed to reimagining internationalisms. I look forward to working with artists and the EVA team to develop the Biennial program for the city, its audiences, and continuing the dialogue with previous appointed Curators whom I hold in great regard.”

The 38th edition of EVA International will open to the public on 14 April and run until 8 July 2018. Artists’ projects will be selected through an international open and invited call for proposals that will be launched in September 2016.
