Light, More Light!

Teixeira Coelho is a retired professor of the USP’s School of Arts and Communications. He has a Master’s Degree in Communication Science and Doctor’s Degree in Literary Theory and Comparative Literature from the University of São Paulo and post-doc from the University of Maryland, USA. Ex-director of the Museum of Contemporary Art of the University São Paulo (MAC-USP) and of the Department of Art Information and Documentation of the Secretariat of Culture of the City of São Paulo (IDART).

Currently, he is the coordinating curator of Museu de Arte de São Paulo Assis Chateaubriand (MASP) and collaborator to the Observatório Itaú Cultural. Curator of various art exhibitions in Brazil and abroad, with books published about art, culture and cultural policy; he is also a fiction writer. His book “História Natural da Ditadura” received the Portugal Telecom Literature award.
