Ekroth and Hammer has cooperated before, and together written a series of texts, often under the common name of PowerHammer. They met while attending the workshop project The Yeonhee-Dong Residency Project in Seoul in the summer of 2007.

Erlend Hammer (b. 1978) is an editor and curator, based in Berlin since 2007. He holds a degree in art History from the University of Bergen (2005) and a Creative Curating from the Art Academy of Bergen (2008). His latest curated project was the group exhibition Oh how time flies at No. 5/ Bergen Kunsthall in 2011.

Power Ekroth (b. 1971) is an independent curator and critic as well as an editor for the magazine SITE. She writes regularly for Artforum.com and has published frequently in Contemporary, Flash Art, Frieze and many other magazines. She has extensive experience as an independent curator.

Curatorial working method

Hammer and Ekroth plan to curate two separate parts for the upcoming biennial, each with their own working title and their own group of artists. Both of them work closely with the artists they invite to an exhibition, and are concerned with the process that lies in the collaboration between artist and curator. By dividing the biennial between them, they will increasingly put their signature on the exhibition, and to a greater extent be individually responsible for the end result, which in turn affects the ambition to create the best possible show.

7th Momentum Biennial will take place June 22 – September 29, 2913, in Moss, Norway.
