Biennial Foundation has been granted support for its research and initial development from the Netherlands Foundation for Visual Arts, Design and Architecture (Fonds BKVB). The Fonds BKVB is an autonomous agency financed by the Dutch Ministry of Education, Culture and Science. Its main responsibilities include making grants to individual visual artists,
designers and architects. This includes
‘Basic Grants’ for visual artists and free-lance designers, ‘Incentive Grants’ for visual artists, designers and architects, and ‘Cultural Mediation Grants’ for cultural theorists, critics and exhibition curators. Biennial Foundation is the recipient of the latter.
