The Shinano-Omachi Northern Alps Art Festival – is the international Art festival in Omachi city, Nagano prefecture, Japan.

The first edition took place in 2017 and included a series of newly commissioned public art works and a rich program of events and experiences interlocking the site with art. It featured 36 artists from Japan and abroad, including Maaria Wirkkala, Felice Varini, Nikita Alekseyev, Tomoko Fuse, Oscar Oiwa and Jimmy Liao, among others.

Omachi City, located at the foot of the Northern Alps, where 3,000-meter-high mountains rise, is said to be a region that has been blessed with a wonderful natural environment. Nevertheless its population has sharply declined in recent years. The Northern Alps Art Festival aims to highlight the local culture and resources. It will focus on art that rediscovers the charm of the area and food that expresses the unique lifestyle and culture of the land.
