The British Council is currently recruiting a Business Development Manager – Arts and Creative Industries for the East Asia region, to work with Arts Directors in 14 countries and develop new arts and creative industries programmes.

Job Aim:

Reporting to Director Arts and Creative Industries, and based in a relevant major city in East Asia, the Business Development Manager will work with the regional arts team in close collaboration with the Arts Directors in 14 countries  to generate and develop new arts and creative industries programmes (including skills development and training) for roll-out in 2013-15.

This post is for a fixed term of 2 years.

Salary starts from $7,950 SGD per month /equivalent.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 5 years experience in Business Development or a related activity
  • Knowledge of business development disciplines and UK/ East Asia Arts and Creative sectors
  • Experience with bid management and negotiation, contracts and tendering
  • Record of effective team leadership of globally dispersed teams
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and influencing skills
  • Experience with operating in a multi-cultural organisation would be an advantage
