The Marc de Montalembert grant (€ 7000) helps young nationals of countries bordering the Mediterranean, under 30 years, to develop and produce a project in the field of culture or crafts and dedicated to the discovery of the cultures of this region.

The Foundation, established in memory of Marc (1972-1993), strives to promote cultural understanding among the young generations and encourage intercultural dialogue in the Mediterranean world.

It awards annual grants in support of projects which enable young persons from Mediterranean countries to discover the diversity of other Mediterranean cultures. From 1994 to 2012 twenty one projects of candidates from seven Mediterranean countries have been awarded the grant.
Furthermore, in association with the Institut National d’Histoire de l’Art, in Paris, it awards the annual Marc de Montalembert Prize for a research in history of arts in the Mediterranean.
