Border Biennial / Bienal Fronteriza aims to recognize, stimulate, and draw attention to artistic creation on the U.S.-Mexico border. It is organized jointly by the Secretaría de Cultura, through the Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes y Literatura (INBAL) and the El Paso Museums & Cultural Affairs Department and produced by El Paso Museum of Art (EPMA) and El Museo de Arte de Ciudad Juárez.

Throughout its editions, the Border Biennial has established itself as a space to explore, recognize, and highlight artistic production from the border region, integrating multisensory, multidisciplinary, and experimental practices.

The Border Biennial seeks to foster creative and critical dialogue about the border as a symbolic, political, cultural, and affective space, encouraging the participation of artists who address these themes from innovative and diverse perspectives.
