The Gwangju Biennale Foundation, in collaboration with the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, will host the 15th Gwangju Biennale Symposium, Echoes of Tomorrow: Soundscapes in the Age of Advanced Computing, on September 8, 2024.
The symposium, Echoes of Tomorrow: Soundscapes in the Age of Advanced Computing, delves into the transformative intersections of sound, technology, and culture. By exploring the realms of machine learning, quantum realities, and innovative sound technologies, the event transcends traditional narratives of sound as mere matter, instead presenting sound as a dynamic medium for understanding and interacting with our world. This day-long event features a series of lectures, panels, simulations and performances that illuminate the profound effects of contemporary sound tools and technologies on our perception of reality, culture, and history.
