Bergen Assembly seeks Head of Communication

Bergen Assembly is a triennial of contemporary art structured around public events taking place in Bergen every three years. The next edition is in 2016 with three distinct positions as artistic directors who will present three separate projects. We are now seeking a Head of Communication.

Duties and responsibilities

Planning and assisting:
The Head of Communication is responsible for the preparation and implementation of all elements of BA’s media strategy directed to Norwegian speaking media, international media and the daily coordination of operational requirements such as: servicing all media enquires and requirements as directed by the CEO and Artistic Directors preparing background information, monitoring of international, national and local media.

Responsibilities:

Coordinate media inquiries and service all elements of international and national media as required in a systematic, timely and effective manner
Advice on press strategies for different media sections
Coordinate media alerts, releases and follow up as required, especially in relation to media launches and BA events
Project manage the delivery of the media kits for all press as layed out by the ADs, including artists’ CVs, venue information, key dates and public programs calendar
Under the direction of the CEO work with the Website Manager and design teams to ensure key information is available at the BA website
Develop and deliver marketing materials with the design- and marketing team
Writing copy and editing communications materials
Manage the delivery of all publications
Build and maintain strong contacts with key media, publications and associations
Scope, produce and deliver relevant media projects such as: special feature stories, media kits and media launches
Plan possible media coverage around special and crucial events

Person specification:

Proven experience of working in an arts organisation
Project management experience
Excellent written and verbal communication skills (English)
Ability to work independently as a part of a small team
Willingness to work flexible hours
