The Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation is seeking an Assistant Curator, Asian Art.

As a member of the Curatorial Department, the Assistant Curator, Asian Art is responsible for curatorial research and implementation support for Guggenheim-organized Asian art exhibitions and scholarly publications, including the Robert H. N. Ho Family Foundation projects; for liaison work with Asian institutions; and for translation and interpretation as necessary.

Qualifications and Requirements: 

  •  Masters degree in modern art history with demonstrated interest in modern and 
  • contemporary Asian art. 
  •  2 to 4 years experience in a curatorial department preferred. 
  •  Graduate-level fluency in written and spoken Mandarin, Japanese, or Korean. 
  •  Excellent oral and written communication skills. 
  •  Professional demeanor and diplomatic approach. 
  •  Ability to successfully interact with a wide variety of internal and external individuals. 
  •  Experience in scholarly research and writing. 
  •  Knowledge of computer databases and MS Office. 
  •  TMS experience a plus.
