The foundation and core of Performatik 2013 consists of encounters between artists from the performing arts and the visual arts, taking time to explore each other’s worlds and together to arrive at something new: Maria Hassabi meets Jimmy Robert, Vincent Dunoyer meets Berlinde De Bruyckere, Trajal Harrell meets Sarah Sze.

Exchange and collaboration are also the main theme for the artist duos with backgrounds in different disciplines.

Exhibition and performance are merging more than ever into one, in formats lasting an average of half an hour. So the public can combine them as they like and sample the wide range of performance currently to be experienced.
