In each year OCT Contemporary Art Terminal (OCAT) in Shenzhen, China, invites five young and experimental artists, critics and curators from the visual arts areas for residency at OCAT’s studios.

The program aims to create a dynamic platform for multi-disciplinary exchange, synthesize international cultural sources and contribute to the construction and developement of Chinese contemporary art system.

OCAT has five studios. The typical residence is a 130 sqm space consisting of a large upstairs bedroom/living area and a downstairs working space. Each residency is self-contained with furniture, adsl broadband connection and a phone.

Disciplines and Media: Visual Arts, Sculpture, Installation, Performing Arts, New Media, Curators, Critics.

Duration: August 15 – Nov. 15 2012.

Grants for Recipients: Visa Fee, cover the round-trip travel expenses, health and life insurance during the residency, 3000 Yuan per m0nth for the cost of living, 1000 Yuan per month for cost of materials and researching works, PR service.
