“Parallel Collisions: 2012”, curated by Natasha Bullock and Alexie Glass-Kantor, is the only major biennial dedicated solely to presenting contemporary Australian art.

The Art Gallery of South Australia, 2 March to 29 April 2012

Parallel Collisions is both the title and the conceptual framework of the exhibition. This term may at first seem a contradiction. Parallel lines, after all, cannot meet when considered in purely spatial terms however, with the added dimension of time, collision becomes possible.

Presented across two physical platforms – the Elder Wing of Australian Art and the temporary exhibitions galleries – the biennial brings the past into dialogue with the present.
