The Prize is launched in conjunction with the 8th Bienal do Mercosul (10 September – 15 November 2011) and the 6th Bienal do Vento Sul – Curitiba (18 September – 20 November 2011).
Writers aged between 18 and 35, resident in Latin America (South and Central America and Mexico) are invited to submit a review of between 1000 and 2000 words of each of the two Biennales as well as for the option of a comparison of both Biennales, in one of AICA’s official languages (English, French, Spanish) or in Portuguese.
The Prize will consist of a fare-paid invitation to participate in the next AICA Congress towards the end of 2012 (place and dates to be confirmed) and deliver a short paper there, on one of the themes of the Congress. The winning review, as well as other approved reviews, will be published on the AICA site.
The prizewinner will also be offered free AICA membership (including membership card and annual stamp) for a period of three years.
The jury will consist of the 6 members of the Fellowship Commission, as follows: Tineke Reijnders, Chair (NL), Adriana Almada (Paraguay), Franck Ekra (Open Section), Yacouba Konaté (Open Section), Henry Meyric Hughes (UK), and Irini Savvani (Greece) with Lisbeth Rebollo (Brazil).
