The Japan Foundation organizes an international symposium on art biennials and triennials being held in East Asian countries. The symposium will be held on the occasion of the opening of the Aichi Triennale 2010, which will take place from August 21 to October 31, 2010.
From the 1990s and 2000s, several characteristic biennials and triennials have been launched in East Asian countries. In 2001 the Japan Foundation launched the Yokohama Triennale, which it continued to hold in 2005 and 2008.
